Thomas Parkison, whose family resides at 271 South Main Street, died at a sanitarium in Battle Creek, Mich., Saturday. Mr. Parkison was a resident of this city until about four years ago, when he assumed the state agency for Indiana with headquarters at Marion, Ind., of the National Masonic Provident Association of this city. Mr. Parkison's health had been failing and his son, Arthur, went to Marion three weeks ago. Mr. Parkison's condition became worse and he was removed to a sanitarium at Battle Creek where his death occurred.
The deceased served during the Civil War. He enlisted as a private Nov. 11, 1861, at the age of 18 years, in Co. E., 64th. Reg't., Ohio Volunteers Infantry. He was promoted to the position of corporal. The late Alexander McIlvane was colonel of the 64th. Reg't. and Col. R.C. Brown of this city was lieutenant colonel. He had been a member of McLaughlin Post, G.A.R., since July 10, 1888.
The remains were brought to this city for interment and McLaughlin Post attended in a body. The deceased leaves a wife and the following children, all residents of this city: Arthur, Wilbur, Thomas, Louise, Nettie, Ethel and Leo.

The funeral of Thomas Parkison which was to have been held Wednesday at 2 p.m. was held Wednesday at 9 a.m. and was conducted under the auspices of Mansfield Commandery No. 21, K.T. The deceased had been a Mason for 30 years and had taken the Scottish Rite degrees. At Marion, Ind., Thomas Parkison was eminent commander of the Commandery there. Four Knights accompanied the remains to this city.
The funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Dr. H.L. Wiles of the Lutheran Church, of which church the deceased had been a member for 29 years.

The remains of Thomas Parkison who died at a sanitarium at Battle Creek, Mich., Saturday, will arrive here Tuesday and the funeral will probably be held Wednesday afternoon.
